May 8, 2022 

I. A Powerful Witness                                    Acts 9:36-43

        A.    One kind of powerful.

1. Verse 36 – “She was always doing good and helping the poor.”
2. Verse 39 – “All the widows …. crying and showing him the robes and other clothing that Dorcas had made while she was still with them.”
3. Verse 41 – “Then he called for the believers, especially the widows, and presented her to them alive.” 

     B. A more obvious kind of powerful.

1. Verse 38 – “They sent two men to him and urged him, ‘Please come at once!’”
2. Verse 40 – “Peter sent them all out of the room.”
3. Verse 40 – “He said, ‘Tabitha, get up’” …. “she sat up.”
4. Verse 41 – He “presented her to them alive.” 

     C. Verse 42 – “This became known all over Joppa, and many people believed in the Lord.”

1.  What do you think persuaded those people to believe in the Lord?
2. Was it just the servant lifestyle of Dorcas?
3. Was it just the power of God working through Peter? 

Or …. Was it the powerful combination of the whole body of Christ working together in obedience
