Sermon Notes
I.    A Dramatic Witness                                                                         Acts 9:1-20

A.    You can say that again.

 1.   Acts 9, Acts 22, Acts 26
 2.   Galatians 1:11-17
3.   II Corinthians 11:30-33, I Corinthians 15:9-10
4.   The conversion of Saul/Paul was a rallying point for the early church ….as well as for Paul.
a. He “loved to tell the story” and Luke recognizes its crucial importance for the life of the church.

B. A life turned around by Christ.

1. This event secured Saul’s salvation (vv. 17-19).
2. This event challenged the lives and purposes of Paul’s companions (v. 7).
3. This event further challenged the high priest and religious establishment who had rejected and crucified Jesus (vv. 1-2).
4. This event emboldened other disciples (in this case, Ananias) to be obedient to God’s call upon their lives.
5. This event provides for several major people groups to receive the proclamation of the gospel (vv. 15-16, 19-20).

C. Telling our story.

1. Encourages, instructs, inspires and emboldens our brothers and sisters in Christ.
2. Becomes a means by which others might know and receive Christ.
3. Why not?
a. It might lead us to places we would fear to go (v. 16).
4. Some are specially “chosen instruments” (v. 15) like Paul …. but all of us have been called and commanded to tell our stories of God’s redeeming love (Matthew 28:18-20, Colossians 1:26-29).
